Wansfell from the footpath onto Loughrigg and Todd Crag at Clappersgate.......
....and the Sid Cross Seat. He was a well known local figure who lived at Clappersgate. A former owner of the Old Dungeon Ghyll at the head of Great Langdale he was an excellent climber and a founder member of the mountain rescue. He used to help people who had got into difficulties on the fells, and on occasion carry them down on a gate, used as a makeshift stretcher - and then go back to the Dungeon Ghyll and cook lunch.
