Grid Reference 367992. The hump on the north western side of Lake Windermere. Only 244m high but superb all round views.

The footpath off the Colthouse road. One of the many footpaths leading onto the fell.....this is the most direct.
From the lower slopes, the view westwards over Loanthwaite towards Coniston and Wetherlam.
Set in the valley, Hawkshead......
....St Michael and All Angels Church. The Church is thought to have been built in 1500, the oldest part being the tower which has eight bells. William Wordsworth, who went to school in Hawkshead, liked to sit at the top of the churchyard.
Yewfield........used to be the Tarn Hows Hotel. Tarn Hows is set behind the tree line.
Looks very cuddly, but the population has soared to nearly 50 million, and they are causing a lot of damage....so now high up on the public enemy list....not much room at the top.
A common sight now, farmers with quad bikes tending to their livestock.
