Twenty four photographs taken in the South Lake District during October. Usually a lovely month, this year has been a little disappointing. Loads of wind and rain, a dusting of snow and frost, and a few beautiful bits in between.
Waterhead. Heavy rains during the month caused almost record flooding.

Kendal Castle.
There are five road bridges over the River Kent in Kendal, three of them Stone Arch Structures. This is Stramongate bridge, dating from 1794. Records mention a bridge here in the 14th centuary.
Victoria Bridge, an Iron structure erected to commemorate the Queen's Jubilee in 1887.
